More on John Maxwell speaking on ‘The Leader’s Greatest Return’ (soon to be a book out in January 2020), at the ‘Live to Lead’ Conference (a live stream program)  in Columbia, SC.

Over the next few weeks I look forward to share with you what I learned about leadership, and especially coaching individuals and teams, which is my expertise as well.  Let’s continue!

Here are a few of John Maxwell’s presentation of the chapters  of the new book, The Leader’s Greatest Return.

Leadership Culture:

“Leaders are routinely and systematically developed, and you have a surplus of leaders ready for the next opportunity”.   Mark Miller of Chick-fil-A – Leaders Made Here program

Chapter 1 – Identify Leaders – Find Them So You can Develop Them

The Greatest Ability, John Maxwell talks about, is to  “get off the mountain, and look for leaders you want to have on your team; what does a leader look like an:  Advance Attraction: “ When you know what  you want and who you are looking for, you increase the odds of finding both”, he continues.

Chapter 2 – Attracting Leaders – Invite Them to the Leadership Table

John talks about the: Leadership Table – “A place where Potential Leaders can sit close to Better Leaders to Listen, Learn, and Participate”

Big Hint / Idea from Alysia

Based on the Leadership Table literally bring people together periodically to share a meal / have a discussion on a leadership topic, you would like to work on.

Have several generations of leaders at this gathering / shared discussion, within your leadership group, to spent about an hour sharing ideas and actions to take.  Perhaps run these monthly. Get a cross section of ideas and people / leaders to share ideas and formulate concrete solutions and finally take action!  Tell the teams of these leaders what you have been all working on; so there are no surprises to anyone.  Let me know how it goes / share your ideas with me; alysia@kehoeconsultants.com  — thanks.
